First Day Back for Fetterman Goes Viral: ‘Horrifying’

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman made a highly publicized return to Congress this week after being absent for two months undergoing treatment for clinical depression. During a subcommittee hearing on Wednesday, Fetterman had difficulty with his opening statement, causing concerns among many. He stumbled over words and seemed to have trouble maintaining his train of thought.

Fetterman appeared to be disoriented and out of sorts as he stumbled through his remarks. It was a clear indication that he was not fully prepared for the occasion as well as a lack of mental capacity to perform the job in general.

Most people see that he is not fit for the job, while others argue further that his behavior is yet another example of the progressive left’s lack of commitment to serious governance.

During his first hearing as chair of his subcommittee, Fetterman criticized Republican efforts to enforce work requirements for individuals receiving food stamp benefits, known as SNAP. His office issued a statement that read, “Cut SNAP for families and kids while pushing tax cuts for billionaires? Not on my watch.” However, what stood out the most was his opening statement with some describing it as just plain sad. Fetterman’s recent hospital stay and subsequent admission of depression made many question his ability to effectively serve in the Senate.

John Fetterman suffered a nearly fatal stroke last May, which likely left him with permanent brain damage, according to his chief of staff. Fetterman’s return to work was met with mixed reactions from both his colleagues and constituents. While some defended him and recognized his potential, others criticized his performance and appearance, fueling concerns about his ability to continue serving in his capacity as senator.

Needless to say, though I’ve said it time and time again, the fact that Democrats elected a mentally ill man shows just how mentally ill they are themselves.
