Democrat Refuses to Apologize for Spreading ‘Lies’ About Biden Probe

In the realm of American politics, yet another controversy has arisen. This time, it involves Democrat Jamie Raskin, a member of the House Oversight Committee, who stands accused of spreading “lies” about an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. Despite the evidence presented by House Republicans, Raskin has refused to apologize, causing a stir in political circles.

Raskin’s refusal to admit any wrongdoing is perceived by some as an attempt to sidestep the mounting evidence against the Bidens. He has previously dismissed allegations of bribery against President Biden as not credible, even after the U.S. Attorney’s office in Pittsburgh did not terminate the probe into the allegation as he had claimed.

Raskin stated in September, “They’ve got nothing on President Joe Biden. All they can do is return to the thoroughly demolished lie that Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump launched five years ago.” He went on to label the evidence against the Bidens as a “conspiracy theory” and a “fairytale.”

However, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) requested an apology from Raskin after former Pittsburgh U.S. Attorney Scott Brady revealed that the bribery allegation was credible enough to warrant further investigation. Brady stated, “My understanding of Mr. Raskin’s public statements is that, based on the determination that I, and my team, found the allegations in the 1023 not credible or other information not credible, we did not escalate the assessment to a limited or full investigation. That’s not true.”

Raskin responded to Brady’s comments in a letter to Comer, stating, “Mr. Brady’s quarrel is not with my actual statements but with his erroneous ‘understanding’ of my statements.” He further declined to apologize.

The refusal of Raskin to apologize for his misleading statements has stirred up considerable controversy. Comer told Breitbart News, “It’s no surprise that Ranking Member Raskin is still dedicated to playing a Biden family defense lawyer instead of fulfilling his oversight responsibilities.”
