WATCH: MTG Delivers a Brutal Blow to Rashida Tlaib on House Floor

The US Congress was rocked by a fierce verbal showdown as Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), known for her fiery rhetoric, launched a scathing attack on “Squad” member Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). Greene introduced a second motion to censure Tlaib, accusing her of supporting an illegal occupation of a federal building and sympathizing with terrorist organizations.

This explosive confrontation comes on the back of Tlaib’s endorsement of protestors demanding Congress support a ceasefire by Israel in its war with Hamas. Greene did not mince words on the House floor, stating that Tlaib was complicit in “antisemitic activity.”

In a dramatic speech, Greene pointed out Tlaib’s controversial past comments, including a statement made in May 2019 where Tlaib allegedly said she felt a calming feeling when thinking about the Holocaust. Furthermore, Greene cited a tweet from Tlaib in 2020 featuring an illustration captioned ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.’ This slogan, according to Greene, has been adopted by Hamas and calls for the elimination of Israel and death to Jews.

The resolution read by Greene also accused Tlaib of inciting an illegal occupation of the Capitol complex on October 18th, 2023, following Hezbollah’s orders for a day of unprecedented anger. This was in response to an explosion at a Gazan hospital, for which Tlaib wrongfully blamed Israel, according to US intelligence agencies.

Greene’s censure motion comes hot on the heels of another resolution she introduced against Tlaib, which narrowly missed passing due to a small faction of Republicans siding with Democrats. Tlaib, who had labeled the previous resolution as “Islamophobic,” has made several controversial statements recently, refusing to denounce the killing of children by Hamas and accusing Joe Biden of participating in “genocide.”

This clash highlights the widening rift within the Democratic party, with President Biden distancing himself from party members who support Palestinians over Israel. This move, which puts him at odds with his key voters, has led to a significant dip in his popularity, particularly among young people and communities of color.
