Trump Attorney Sounds Alarm on NY AG Letitia James

In the ongoing civil fraud trial against former President Donald Trump, his attorney, Alina Habba, has raised concerns about New York Attorney General Letitia James. During an appearance on ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ with host Maria Bartiromo, Habba argued that James should dismiss the case due to her alleged bias.

Habba stated she would be filing for a mistrial, though she acknowledged the judge presiding over the case was the same one who had previously issued a gag order. She addressed accusations that Trump had overvalued assets, explaining that an accounting firm had assembled a compilation and that Trump’s lenders, such as Deutsche Bank, were “sophisticated lenders.”

According to Habba, these lenders were not harmed as they were paid on time, with interest, and made money from their dealings with Trump. She criticized James for interfering in private companies and individuals’ work, something she argues is not meant to happen.

Habba also expressed concern about how Trump’s children, who have testified in the case, fit into the situation. She claimed they were not involved and didn’t fit into the case at all. She accused James of using the children for publicity, arguing that “radical left liberals” were more interested in making statements than adhering to facts and law.

Looking ahead, Habba stated that former President Trump would stand trial on March 25, 2024, in connection with falsifying business records related to a 2016 hush money payment. However, she reiterated that no one was harmed and accused James of seeking headlines.

“She campaigned on this, remember, before she was even the attorney general. That’s how she got the attorney general role. She campaigned on Trump, so she had to follow through, and she should really dismiss this case, it’s making her look bad, frankly, and the city needs her attention elsewhere,” Habba said.

This case marks another chapter in the ongoing legal battles involving former President Trump. With Habba’s allegations of bias and her call for a mistrial, it remains to be seen how this case will unfold and what impact it will have on Trump and his family.
