House Ethics Panel Moves in Secret to Drop ‘Damaging’ Gaetz Report Before Congress Ends

In yet another blatant case of weaponized politics, the House Ethics Committee has secretly voted to release a report into former Rep. Matt Gaetz’s conduct before the end of this Congress, according to a CNN report. The decision comes after the panel initially chose not to release the findings following Gaetz’s resignation from Congress. This reversal reeks of political score-settling and deep state maneuvering, underscoring how far the swamp is willing to go to tarnish a vocal America First conservative.

The report, described as “damaging” by those familiar with it, is expected to be made public just as lawmakers leave Washington for the holidays — the classic Washington D.C. tactic of dropping controversial news when few are paying attention. Previously, the committee had shelved the report along party lines. But now, with some Republicans apparently joining Democrats, the push to smear Gaetz has been revived.

Gaetz’s resignation last month came after President-elect Donald Trump announced him as his nominee for Attorney General. However, facing continued political attacks and establishment sabotage, Gaetz withdrew his name for consideration, vowing instead to support Trump in another capacity.

The House Ethics Committee’s investigation into Gaetz has dragged on for years, centered on allegations of sexual misconduct that have already been dismissed by the Biden Department of Justice. In February 2023, after an exhaustive probe, the DOJ exonerated Gaetz and declined to press charges. Despite this, Democrats on the Ethics Committee, led by Rep. Susan Wild, have pursued Gaetz with relentless fervor. Reports have surfaced indicating that Wild leaked parts of the report to the media, while a so-called “hacker” also mysteriously obtained documents related to the case.

The timing of these renewed attacks is suspect. Gaetz was instrumental in the ousting of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, leading a successful Motion to Vacate that sent shockwaves through the Republican establishment. Conveniently, the Ethics Committee revived their investigation just as Gaetz ramped up challenges to McCarthy and his allies.

Gaetz has responded forcefully to the Committee’s latest antics, noting that he has never been charged, sued, or given a fair opportunity to confront his accusers. In his statement, Gaetz admitted to his past as a single man who partied and dated freely, but he made it crystal clear that any accusations of inappropriate conduct with minors are patently false and would collapse in a court of law.

This entire episode is yet another example of the deep state’s willingness to destroy anyone who challenges the status quo. Matt Gaetz, who has spent his career fighting for conservative values and exposing establishment corruption, is just the latest target. As usual, the left’s playbook is to weaponize government committees, leak information, and smear their opponents — all while ignoring real corruption within their own ranks. The timing of this report’s release makes one thing clear: it’s not about justice; it’s about vengeance.
