Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth just handed out a scorching reality check to a left-wing activist judge who thinks running the Pentagon from the bench is part of her job description. After Judge Ana Reyes, a Biden-appointed federal judge (from Uruguay, no less), issued a nationwide injunction against President Trump’s common-sense ban on transgender troops, Hegseth took the gloves off and delivered a brutal dose of truth.
The showdown stems from President Trump’s recent executive orders — “Restoring America’s Fighting Force” and “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness” — which aim to get our military back to doing what it’s supposed to do: win wars, not manage pronouns. The orders direct the armed forces to eliminate woke nonsense like race- and sex-based preferences, along with the fantasy land of gender ideology that’s infected the ranks under Biden’s tenure.
But Judge Reyes had other ideas. Earlier this week, she blocked Trump’s policy with a nationwide injunction, forcing the Pentagon to allow transgender individuals to serve. That’s right — one unelected judge is trying to overrule the Commander-in-Chief and derail national defense policy to appease her progressive ideology.
Reyes didn’t even pretend to be impartial. During a hearing on Friday, she badgered Department of Justice lawyers, sarcastically asking whether they knew how much the military spends on Viagra versus “gender dysphoria” treatments. Because obviously, combat readiness is all about prescription comparisons, not about physical fitness, mental stability, and unit cohesion. Unbelievable.
Well, Secretary Hegseth wasn’t having it. On Saturday, he took to X (formerly Twitter) and lit Reyes up with one of the most savage posts of the year.
“Since ‘Judge’ Reyes is now a top military planner, she/they can report to Fort Benning at 0600 to instruct our Army Rangers on how to execute High Value Target Raids… after that, Commander Reyes can dispatch to Fort Bragg to train our Green Berets on counterinsurgency warfare.”
Boom! Hegseth, a former Army officer himself, knows exactly what’s at stake. Warfighting isn’t a social experiment. It’s life and death. And letting unelected judges dictate military policy based on activist talking points isn’t just dangerous — it’s insane.
The Trump administration has already updated its transgender policy, and DOJ lawyers are fighting to lift Reyes’ reckless injunction. Meanwhile, real leaders like Hegseth are doing what needs to be done: calling out judicial overreach and putting our troops — and our country — first.
Because the military’s job isn’t to validate gender identity. It’s to win wars.
