DHS Official Shuts Down ABC Host Over MS-13 Deportation Case: “I Can Do This All Day, Jay”

Democrats and their media allies are once again clutching their pearls over President Trump’s tough-on-crime immigration policies—this time seizing on the deportation of an El Salvadoran gang member as supposed evidence of cruel or unjust governance. But during a heated interview on ABC News, Department of Homeland Security official Tricia McLaughlin gave a masterclass in how to shut down that nonsense.

ABC’s Jay O’Brien attempted to spin the narrative, referring to the deported man as simply “a Maryland man.” McLaughlin was quick to call out the whitewashing of the facts.

“I think what really matters to Americans is that this MS-13 gang member who, unfortunately, Jay, you and a lot of your colleagues have called ‘a Maryland man,’ when, in reality, he is a MS-13 gang member,” McLaughlin said, prompting O’Brien to interrupt and demand proof.

She had it ready.

“There’s actually two separate immigration judges, Jay, who have confirmed and ruled that he is a member of MS-13,” she replied. “I can do this all day, Jay.

That’s the kind of energy the American people want from Homeland Security—not hand-wringing, not political correctness, but facts and firmness.

McLaughlin went on to highlight that the gang member in question was tied to human trafficking and labor exploitation. “I don’t think you’d want to be his neighbor,” she added. “I sure wouldn’t, and I don’t think many Americans watching would want to be this individual’s neighbor.”

This isn’t about paperwork errors or “nonviolent migrants” just trying to survive. This is about keeping violent criminals out of our neighborhoods.

Since retaking office, President Trump has been crystal clear: gangs like MS-13, Tren de Aragua, and Mexican drug cartels are now officially designated as foreign terrorist organizations, and will be removed with urgency. He invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 on March 15 to expedite the deportation of known gang members, sidestepping the activist legal bottlenecks that plagued prior administrations.

And it’s working. Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently confirmed the success of the operation, noting that another 10 gang members were deported this week alone. “The alliance between @POTUS and President @nayibbukele has become an example for security and prosperity in our hemisphere,” Rubio posted.

While the left tries to muddy the waters, Team Trump is draining them—and protecting American families in the process.
