In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s shocking assassination, the conspiracy theories started flying faster than the mainstream media could say “gun control.” One of the main targets? A Turning Point USA staffer caught on video removing SD cards from camera equipment shortly after the shooting. Naturally, the internet’s amateur sleuths spun that into a full-blown cover-up. But now, we finally have answers — from none other than Andrew Kolvet, Charlie Kirk’s longtime producer.
Kolvet took to X to shut down the noise, writing, “Tucker and I addressed what happened with the SD cards after the assassination.” He went on to explain that the man who took the cards was a “longtime staffer, a loyal man, and a dear friend,” adding that “he made the right call.”
And honestly, he did. According to Kolvet, the staffer was acting quickly to protect the footage from being snatched by members of the crowd — some of whom were already trying to push into the camera area. This wasn’t some deep state cover-up. It was a guy trying to protect what might be the most important evidence of a political assassination in modern American history.
Speaking on the Charlie Kirk Show with Tucker Carlson, Kolvet confirmed that all of the footage has been turned over to the FBI. The federal agents now have the original SD cards, which contain uncut video from the day Kirk was murdered. So unless someone wants to accuse the FBI of being in on the conspiracy too…oh wait, some probably already are…there’s not much left to argue.
Tyler Boyer, the COO of Turning Point USA, also chimed in on X. He identified the man in the viral video as the head of tech for Charlie’s show and said that the footage was turned over “immediately” to investigators. Boyer didn’t mince words, either: “I wouldn’t be doxxing or villainizing our good people who were closest to Charlie when he was murdered. It’s not right.”
And he’s right. This staffer wasn’t hiding anything, he was preserving crucial evidence. People who knew and worked alongside Charlie Kirk are still grieving, and yet some keyboard warriors want to turn them into villains based on a grainy clip and zero context.
Bottom line: there’s no cover-up. Just loyal colleagues doing what they could in a moment of horror.
