Amy Klobuchar just learned the hard way that trying to corner Kash Patel with “gotcha” questions is a bad idea. During Patel’s confirmation hearing for FBI Director, the Minnesota senator thought she could trip him up with some slick questioning. Instead, she got absolutely torched.
Klobuchar started by trying to defend the current FBI leadership, specifically Chris Wray, by pointing out that FBI applications have tripled under his tenure. She smugly asked, “Do you think that people would be applying to those agencies if, in fact, it was so corrupt?” Nice try, Amy.
But Patel wasn’t having it. He calmly reminded her that public confidence in the FBI is at an all-time low, thanks to years of politically motivated investigations, blatant bias, and Deep State antics. And let’s be real—who’s applying to the FBI these days? Probably not the kind of straight-shooting patriots we actually need in federal law enforcement.
But Klobuchar, watching her “gotcha” attempt go down in flames, decided to double down. She tried a different approach, bringing up a comment Patel allegedly made about shutting down the FBI headquarters and turning it into a “Museum of the Deep State.” Because apparently, that is the biggest issue facing America right now—not crime, not border security, not government corruption. No, Klobuchar wants to argue about jokes.
That’s when Patel dropped the hammer.
“Simply this: if the best attacks on me are going to be false accusations and grotesque mischaracterizations, the only thing this body is doing is defeating the credibility of the men and women at the FBI,” Patel shot back. And then he delivered the real knockout punch:
“I STOOD with them, here in this country, in every theater of war we have – I was on the ground in service.”
Game over.
Patel then reminded Klobuchar and her Democrat colleagues that he has been endorsed by over 300,000 law enforcement officers to be the next FBI Director. He didn’t need to waste time on the Democrats’ absurd questions—he let his record and the support of real American patriots do the talking.
The reality is, Patel terrifies the D.C. establishment. He’s already working with Rep. James Comer to dismantle the Deep State, and he understands that the weaponization of federal law enforcement needs to end. That’s exactly why the Democrats are flailing, desperately trying (and failing) to discredit him.
If this hearing proved anything, it’s that Patel is ready to take on the swamp—and the swamp knows it.
