You’d think by now Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) would’ve learned that picking fights with President Trump and his administration only ends one way—for her, badly. But apparently not, because during a chaotic town hall event in Jackson Heights, Queens, AOC decided to fire off cheap shots at Trump, Border Czar Tom Homan, and—most absurdly—immigration enforcement in general. The result? A humiliating spectacle that even her loyal fans couldn’t completely defend.
AOC’s event was billed as a grievance session against the Trump administration’s budget and immigration policies. She came prepared with a PowerPoint and expected the crowd to nod in unison like bobbleheads. Instead, she barely made it through her first slide before being ambushed—verbally—by one of her former supporters.
“I am a healthcare worker and I want to know what you’re doing about the genocide in Gaza!” the woman shouted. Then, with the room in stunned silence, she tore into AOC on her way out: “Shame on you, I used to support you. You’re a war criminal!”
So much for that carefully scripted opener.
But AOC wasn’t done embarrassing herself. Later in the event, she decided to wave a red flag at a bull by taunting Tom Homan, President Trump’s hard-nosed Border Czar who previously referred her to the DOJ for obstructing federal immigration enforcement. Her response?
“Come for me. Do I look like I care?” AOC scoffed to applause from her dwindling pool of loyalists.
Well, she might want to start caring. Homan revealed back in February that he formally contacted the Deputy Attorney General, requesting an investigation into AOC’s actions—specifically her holding webinars aimed at teaching illegal aliens how to avoid ICE. That’s not community organizing—that’s obstruction. And it might be a felony.
“If so, what are we going to do about it?” Homan asked on Fox News. “Is she crossing the line?”
If the DOJ under Attorney General Pam Bondi decides to move forward, AOC could be in serious legal jeopardy. Of course, the Left would crown her a martyr, practically canonize her on MSNBC, and parade her around as a “victim” of Trumpian tyranny.
But politically? That’s the best-case scenario for the GOP. Let the Democrats nominate the loudest, most radical voice in their party. The rest of the country will reject her faster than she clicks “post” on another tone-deaf Instagram livestream.
By all means, AOC—dare them to come for you.
