Well, folks, it seems our dear Joe Biden has done it again. Just when you thought he couldn’t possibly put his foot in his mouth any deeper, he’s managed to outdo himself. And this time, his remarks have landed him right in the middle of a scalding hot controversy.
After his State of the Union address, Biden was caught on a hot mic talking to Sen. Michael Bennett (D-CO), Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He let slip a little nugget about his conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, “I told him, Bibi — don’t repeat this — you and I are going to have a come to Jesus meeting.”
Now, that’s a comment that’ll raise some eyebrows! And as if that wasn’t enough, when an aide rushed in to inform him that he was on a hot mic, Biden responded with a nonchalant, “I’m on a hot mic, well good. That was good.”
Ben Shapiro of The Daily Wire was one of the first to rip into Biden, calling his comments “Absolutely pathetic.” He pointed out the irony of Biden’s desire to pressure Israel while Hamas is holding six American citizens hostage. “And that Israel should give the Hamas/PA/Islamic Jihad government a state,” Shapiro added, highlighting the absurdity of Biden’s stance.
Clifford Asness, co-founder of AQR Capital Management, echoed Shapiro’s sentiments. “The dems… are getting closer and closer to going full Hamas. You never go full Hamas,” he warned. Meanwhile, Mark Levin, a political commentator, criticized Biden for funding Hamas and smearing Bibi while staying silent about his Islamist supporters.
National Review Senior Writer Dan McLaughlin summed up Biden’s diplomacy skills with biting sarcasm: “Telling Jews to come to Jesus is A+ diplomacy.”
Former U.S. Diplomat Alberto Miguel Fernandez also had a few choice words for Biden and his team, stating, “Blinken finds this amusing. Would be good for all of them to ‘come to Jesus,’ including the ghoulish Biden.”
In short, Biden’s “hot mic” moment has sparked outrage and criticism from numerous quarters. His remarks about Netanyahu not only show a lack of respect for one of America’s closest allies but also reveal a disturbing pattern of prioritizing the wrong things at the wrong time. Whether it’s apologizing for calling an illegal alien ‘illegal’ or making controversial comments about foreign leaders, Biden seems to have a knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. And unfortunately, it’s the American people who are paying the price.
