It looks like the Left’s favorite conspiracy theory just hit a brick wall. Again. Former Attorney General William “Bill” Barr, who actually ran the Department of Justice during President Trump’s first term, just sat down for a little heart-to-heart with the House Oversight Committee, and let’s just say the “Trump-Epstein connection” the media and online conspiracy nuts love to push is looking more pathetic than ever.
According to Barr’s closed-door deposition on Monday, he made it absolutely clear that President Trump never gave any direction, input, or orders regarding the Epstein investigation. And no, there was no secret meeting in a dark basement where Trump “arranged” anything about Epstein’s mysterious death. In fact, Barr reiterated his long-held belief that Epstein committed suicide, like it or not.
Now, here’s the kicker. Barr told the committee that if there were even a sliver of incriminating evidence against President Trump, the Biden-run Justice Department would’ve slapped it all over the front page of The New York Times faster than Hunter Biden can misplace a laptop. You really think Merrick Garland and crew would sit on that kind of political ammo? Please. If they had even a whiff of proof, we’d be knee-deep in impeachment hearing number 9 by now.
Let’s not pretend this investigation is just about Trump either. House Oversight Chair James Comer is pulling no punches. He subpoenaed six former attorneys general, including deep-state darlings like Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch. That’s not all, former FBI bigwigs James Comey and Robert Mueller are also on the list. Oh, and in a twist of cosmic irony, both Bill and Hillary Clinton are being called to the carpet too. The Clintons and Epstein? Now that is a connection with legs.
Of course, word on the street is that Bill Clinton will play the old executive privilege card and slink away from testifying. Hillary? Probably hiding behind the same worn-out excuses she used to dodge accountability after Benghazi, the email server fiasco, and, well, losing two elections.
Meanwhile, the DOJ is finally playing ball and promising to hand over Epstein files to Comer’s committee. We’ll see how much they redact because you know they love their black sharpies, but at least it’s a step forward.
Long story short, Barr just put another nail in the coffin of the Left’s anti-Trump fantasies. The Epstein circus is full of shady characters, but President Trump ain’t one of them.
