Nothing quite captures the state of the modern Democratic Party like U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) sobbing on national television because MSNBC’s Katie Phang called her brave for saying Donald Trump is worse than an MS-13 gang member.
Yes, that actually happened.
Crockett, whose claim to fame is shouting into microphones and offering soundbites that even Kamala Harris would call confusing, appeared on The Katie Phang Show this week for yet another round of “Republicans are bad” theater. But this time, she took things to a new level of absurdity—comparing President Trump to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a known member of MS-13, a violent street gang responsible for drug trafficking, human smuggling, and some of the most brutal crimes imaginable.
Trump, according to Crockett, is worse.
“As far as I’m concerned, [Abrego Garcia] is a lot less criminal than the person in the White House,” she said, with a straight face. “He didn’t have any criminal convictions.” That’s right—Crockett is defending an illegal immigrant gang member deported for violence and terror, and calling Trump, who is appealing politically motivated charges, a bigger threat.
It’s nonsense so thick you’d need a backhoe to dig through it.
Phang, of course, didn’t challenge any of it. Instead, she played a tribute clip of Crockett’s earlier appearances, gushed about how she “defends democracy,” and thanked her for being a symbol of “integrity.” Crockett was so overcome by the flattery she burst into tears. Because nothing says strength and leadership like crying over a canceled MSNBC show.
And yes, The Katie Phang Show is ending, as part of MSNBC’s larger collapse under the weight of its own propaganda. Comcast is gutting the network, merging it with CNBC and other cable properties into a separate spin-off company. Joy Reid’s The ReidOut has also been axed—because apparently shouting “racist!” into the void every night doesn’t pull ratings anymore.
The real takeaway here isn’t just the melodrama—it’s the mindset. Crockett and her cheerleaders believe screaming “Trump is evil” is the same as governing. Meanwhile, she’s defending violent criminals and bashing the man elected to secure the border and restore order.
If Democrats want to spend 2028 weeping over canceled talk shows while praising MS-13 over a former president, they’re welcome to it. The rest of the country is watching—and voting accordingly.
