On Sunday, the White House grounds were evacuated because officials found an unknown item on the premises. Later, it was confirmed that the unknown item was actually powdered cocaine, which is an illegal Schedule II substance.
Many conservative commentators have noted that the substance was discovered two days after Hunter Biden, the son of the scandal-plagued president who has a history of drug use and was discharged from the US Navy for testing positive for cocaine, visited the White House. This has been a notable fact for them.
The White House library where the drugs were found is included on the mansion tour that is accessible to the public. This means that there could be a larger number of people who could have left the substance there.
The public’s response to the news has revealed that some people are taking a lighthearted approach. For example, Twitter user “Official Ohio State DG” pointed out that the story lends new significance to the term “White House,” which is typically associated with the color of cocaine.
Hunter Biden has stated that he has successfully overcome his drug addiction after a challenging time and no longer has the urge to use drugs. However, his past struggles with drug addiction have resurfaced. In June, he received a favorable plea deal from the Department of Justice, which would require him to serve probation. The deal was partially a result of his false statements about his history of drug addiction on a gun application.
As pointed out by the National Rifle Association-Institute for Legislative Action, “Yet the prosecutorial indifference exhibited in the Hunter gun case is just a higher profile example of how the federal gun control regime works. An expanding web of statutes, regulations and enforcement policies make it harder and harder for conscientious, law-abiding Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights, while those who brazenly violate the law often go unpunished. In either case, those in authority hold all the cards, picking winners and losers under the regime as it suits them and their political agenda. ”
Constitutional lawyer Robert Barnes also commented on the favorable nature of Hunter Biden’s deal, highlighting its sweetheart status. He wrote “As a criminal tax lawyer for a near quarter-century, I confirm how rare & extraordinary the [Hunter Biden] plea deal is. Indeed, the deal violates DOJ Tax official policy, where Biden’s DOJ prohibit prosecutors from even offering this deal to people who did far less than Hunter.”
