BREAKING: Star Boxer Arrested by ICE Following Big Fight, Scheduled for Deportation

Well, here we go again with another shining example of how the Biden administration’s immigration circus keeps on giving. This time, the headline-grabbing story isn’t just about some unknown crossing the border, it’s Julio César Chávez Jr., the once-promising Mexican boxer, now making headlines not for his punches, but for his cartel connections and visa violations.

Chávez Jr., 39, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for allegedly overstaying his visa, lying on his green card application, and, you know, working with one of the most dangerous cartels in the world, the Sinaloa cartel. But hey, under Biden, it seems the door was wide open for him to waltz back into the country anyway.

This guy isn’t just some amateur either. Chávez Jr. held the WBC middleweight title from 2011 to 2012 and was hyped as the heir to his father’s boxing legacy. His dad, Julio César Chávez Sr., is a legend in Mexico, but it seems junior couldn’t stay out of trouble long enough to earn that same respect. After his undefeated run collapsed in 2012, Chávez Jr.’s career has been a train wreck of missed weights, drug suspensions, and now, cartel allegations.

ICE picked him up just days after he lost to YouTube sensation-turned-fighter Jake Paul in Anaheim, California. That loss was a payday for Chávez Jr., raking in $1.5 million to stand in the ring and get beaten by Paul, whose rise in boxing honestly says more about the sport’s state than it does about Paul’s skills. After the fight, Chávez Jr. was spotted scootering around his Studio City neighborhood before federal agents swooped in.

His lawyer, Michael Goldstein, called the accusations “outrageous,” but let’s be real, the guy’s immigration record is shady at best. He overstayed his travel visa, which expired in February, and somehow managed to apply for a green card through his wife, Frida Muñoz, a U.S. citizen and, interestingly enough, the ex-girlfriend of Édgar Guzmán López, son of El Chapo. You can’t make this stuff up.

Biden’s administration let Chávez back in the country on January 4, despite his links to the Sinaloa cartel, the same cartel responsible for pumping drugs, guns, and violence across our border. If President Trump were running the show then, you can bet this guy wouldn’t have made it past TSA, let alone step into the ring in California. But now that he’s back behind the wheel, nobody is off limits.

Jake Paul celebrated with an American flag emoji after the arrest, a rare moment where Paul might’ve actually made a good point. Maybe it’s time to get serious about who we’re letting into this country.
