Country Singer Gets Boycott of His Own for Insulting His Own Fans

In some ways, it blows my mind how clueless some people are about their customer base. We’ve seen this with Bud Light, Nike, and North Face recently. But now, someone else wants to join the club. Fans who are boycotting Bud Light are upset with country singer Garth Brooks for using the word “a**holes” to refer to them. Brooks had mentioned that he will serve Bud Light along with other brands of beer at his new Nashville bar as a sign of promoting diversity.

Brooks made an offensive comment about millions of beer drinkers who are frustrated with the transgender agenda being forced on them. He stated that he will continue to serve Bud Light at his bar, the Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk.

“Yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are. It’s not our decision to make,” he reportedly said during a Q&A session for Billboard’s Country Live in Conversation.

“I want it to be a place you feel safe in, I want it to be a place where you feel like there are manners and people like one another,” he said. “And yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are. It’s not our decision to make,” Brooks continued, adding drinkers who disagreed with him could go to “plenty of other spaces on lower Broadway.”

“If you come into this house, love one another. If you’re an a**hole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”

Brooks continued: “In my existence, one a**hole can turn the whole tide down there. My thing is, let’s create a place that you feel safe in.”

Since the Billboard event, there has been a lot of buzz among fans responding to his taunts. Brooks talked about the controversy during his livestream “Inside Studio G” on Monday.

“Everybody’s got their opinions. But inclusiveness is always going to be me,” Brooks said. “I think diversity is the answer to the problems that are here and the answer to the problems that are coming. So, I love diversity. All inclusive, so all are welcome. I understand that might not be other people’s opinions, but that’s OK, man.”

For several months, Bud Light and its parent company Anheuser-Busch have faced backlash from upset customers who are angry about the company’s partnership with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney. As a result, Modelo Especial has become the best-selling beer in America, overtaking Bud Light, which had held the title for 22 years. This information comes from sales data that was recently released and reported by Newsweek.
