Democrat Senator Embroiled in Scandal Involving Deported Illegal

While the state is still reeling from the death of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five, Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen has decided his time is best spent trying to bring back another illegal immigrant from El Salvador, one who was lawfully deported for being a known member of MS-13. You can’t make this stuff up.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the subject of Van Hollen’s sudden international crusade, was booted out of the U.S. after two immigration courts found him to be a gang member. Not that it matters to Van Hollen — he’s so desperate to score points with the open-borders crowd that he’s now threatening to fly to El Salvador himself to inspect the conditions of a high-security prison housing one of their worst. Meanwhile, Rachel Morin’s family? They got a generic “thoughts and prayers” statement and a finger pointed at Republicans for “blocking immigration reform.”

It gets worse. On the same day Van Hollen was grandstanding about Abrego Garcia’s deportation, Victor Martinez-Hernandez — another illegal immigrant from El Salvador — was convicted in a Maryland courtroom of murdering Rachel Morin. A jury took less than an hour to reach the verdict. That’s how clear the evidence was. But don’t expect Van Hollen to fly to Honduras to figure out how Martinez-Hernandez got back into the U.S. after being deported multiple times. That’s not on his agenda.

Van Hollen’s obsession with foreign criminals isn’t just tone-deaf — it’s dangerous. He’s not standing up for Marylanders. He’s not standing up for women. He’s standing up for a narrative: that illegal immigrants are always victims, and that enforcing immigration law is somehow an injustice.

But ask Rachel Morin’s children how just this system feels. Ask them if they think more energy should be spent fighting for MS-13 members or making sure another mom doesn’t get butchered on a jogging trail.

Van Hollen’s priorities are clear, and Marylanders are watching. When you treat a convicted gang member like a political prisoner and treat a murdered mother like a political inconvenience, you don’t deserve the title of public servant. You deserve a pink slip — and a one-way ticket back to reality.
