Draining the Swamp in Full Effect! Staggering Number Have Taken Trump’s ‘Buyout’ Package

What’s better than firing federal bureaucrats? Getting them to quit on their own. And that’s exactly what President Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are doing—forcing The Swamp to drain itself.

As of now, 20,000 federal workers have taken Trump’s buyout offer, voluntarily walking away from their cushy government jobs. That’s 1% of the federal workforce gone—and we’re just getting started. With the White House aiming for 5-10%, we’re looking at potentially hundreds of thousands of resignations, leading to a massive $100 billion in taxpayer savings per year.

This is a masterstroke. Unlike previous Republican presidents who tried (and failed) to trim the bloated bureaucracy through traditional means, Trump and Musk are making it impossible for these career bureaucrats to stick around. By implementing a return-to-office policy and setting higher performance standards, they’re exposing lazy government employees who’ve been riding the remote work gravy train since COVID. The result? They’d rather quit than actually show up to work.

According to Axios, federal employees have until February 6 to accept the buyout, which offers eight months of pay and benefits in exchange for their resignation. The deal is open to all full-time federal workers—except military personnel, Postal Service employees, and those working in immigration enforcement or national security.

As a senior administration official put it:
“We’re five years past COVID, and just 6% of federal employees work full-time in office. That is unacceptable.”

Exactly. American taxpayers fund these salaries, and they deserve employees who actually show up to work. If they don’t want to contribute to making America great again, they’re free to leave—with a severance check in hand.

Naturally, the usual suspects in the mainstream media are throwing a fit, calling this a “purge” and claiming that Trump is trying to install “loyalists” in the federal workforce. Translation? They’re terrified. They know that for decades, unelected bureaucrats have used their positions to undermine conservative policies and push a left-wing agenda. Trump is finally putting an end to it.

This is textbook Trump: outsmarting The Swamp at its own game. By making government jobs unbearable for the lazy and incompetent, he’s ensuring that only the best—and most accountable—workers remain.

Brilliant move, Mr. President. Keep it coming.
