Federal Court Deals Massive Blow to Biden’s Green Agenda Crackdown

Hold on to your hats, folks! It looks like Joe Biden’s green crusade has hit a brick wall. A federal court recently delivered a knockout punch to Biden’s Department of Energy (DOE), ruling that they’ve overstepped their boundaries by attempting to regulate energy and water usage in appliances.

This landmark decision came from the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. They weren’t buying what the Biden administration was selling – that they had to roll back Trump-era rules favoring appliances that used more water and energy. The court ruled that the DOE has no authority to regulate water use in dishwashers or washing machines.

The court said it was “unclear” how or why the DOE thought it had the power to regulate water use in these appliances. The DOE also failed to consider the negative consequences of their rule. These supposedly ‘energy efficient’ appliances often require users to rewash, prewash, or even handwash items – wasting more energy and water!

The DOE tried to argue that it only repealed the 2020 rules due to procedural errors. But the court called this argument “frivolous.” The 2020 rules had considered the relevant statutes extensively. The court went as far as saying the DOE was “throwing the baby out with the bathwater.”

The verdict? These so-called ‘energy efficient’ appliances don’t work. They actually make Americans use more energy and water. The court’s opinion was music to the ears of Devin Watkins, an attorney for the non-profit libertarian think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute. He praised the decision, saying it forces the DOE to follow the law.

The Biden administration has been pushing hard for a green economy. From dishwashers to water heaters, pool pumps, and electric vehicles, they want everything to be ‘green.’ But critics say this comes at the expense of product performance and consumer choice. Electric vehicles, in particular, are suffering as buyers balk at lower rebates, higher electricity prices, and a lack of charging ports.

So, it seems Biden’s green crackdown has been dealt a massive blow. As always, we’ll be here to keep you updated on the latest developments. But for now, it looks like the DOE will have to go back to the drawing board.
