High-Profile Hair Stylist Slain in Random Stabbing – Police Left Stunned by What the Suspect Said

The tragic murder of 27-year-old Hailey Hosford, a well-known hair stylist and businesswoman in Broward County, Florida, has rocked the local community — and for good reason. What happened to her wasn’t just senseless violence. It was a brutal, random slaughter, committed by a man with no apparent motive other than pure evil.

Last Wednesday at around 1:40 a.m., Hosford pulled her Mercedes into the parking garage of a luxury apartment complex in Sunrise, Florida. Accompanying her was an unidentified male friend. What should’ve been a routine arrival turned into a horror movie scene. Out of nowhere, 21-year-old Jackson Julian Sagesse approached the vehicle, armed with a steak knife.

Terrified, Hosford reportedly tried to hide in the back seat of her car, clearly hoping the threat would pass. But Sagesse had other plans. He opened the door and began viciously stabbing her, while her friend was stabbed in the neck during the chaos. By the grace of God, he managed to escape and call 911.

It didn’t take long for police to identify and arrest Sagesse. He was charged with premeditated murder and attempted felony murder — and what he told police afterward is both chilling and infuriating. According to court documents, Sagesse told officers, “I just killed someone and walked away.” No remorse. No explanation. Just casual evil, as if he’d done nothing more than leave a restaurant without tipping.

At first, he tried the predictable excuse — claiming the killing was in self-defense. But eventually, under questioning, Sagesse admitted to stabbing Hosford at least 10 times and admitted he deliberately aimed for her throat. According to Sunrise police, there’s no evidence of a connection between the suspect and the victims. This was, horrifyingly, a random attack.

The attack happened near the upscale Retreat at Sawgrass Village, across the street from the Amerant Bank Arena. Witnesses said they saw a body in the parking garage before authorities arrived. Police confirmed that surveillance video captured the brutal stabbing, making the case against Sagesse ironclad.

What happened to Hailey Hosford is a reminder that crime doesn’t care about zip codes, careers, or status. It’s also a stark indictment of a justice system and cultural climate where violent predators walk among us, seemingly unchecked. Justice for Hailey should be swift and absolute. No excuses. No soft-on-crime loopholes. Just the full weight of the law.
