Hollywood Liberal Claims to Have Left ‘Dystopian’ America Since Trump Won Election

Eva Longoria, best known for her role in Desperate Housewives, has decided she’s had enough of the “dystopian” United States following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory on November 5. In an interview with Marie Claire published Wednesday, Longoria revealed that she has begun splitting her time between Spain and Mexico, effectively leaving the U.S. behind in what she describes as a symbolic exit from a country she believes has taken a dark turn.

Longoria didn’t hold back in the interview, offering a scathing critique of the political climate and the state of the country. Discussing the border crisis, she took aim at Trump supporters who rallied behind his infamous “Build that wall” chant. “The people who were screaming, ‘Build that wall!’ are the same people that are going to Taco Tuesday,” she quipped. “And I’m like, ‘No, no, no. You don’t get to margarita out and sh*t on the culture that gave you the taco and gave you the margarita.’” For Longoria, the irony of enjoying Mexican cuisine while advocating for stricter immigration policies is a bitter pill to swallow.

Despite her complaints about the rising taxes and worsening homelessness in California, Longoria has been a high-profile supporter of the Democratic Party. She made appearances at the Democratic National Convention and was a vocal advocate for Kamala Harris, even campaigning alongside figures like Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. But now, Longoria feels like her chapter in California is closing. “I had my whole adult life here,” she said. “But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge.”

Longoria admitted that her decision to leave the U.S. comes from a place of privilege. “I’m privileged,” she acknowledged. “I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.” Her words reflect a deep disappointment with the current state of the nation and the political trajectory she believes it’s headed towards.

Still processing the shock of Trump’s victory, Longoria didn’t mince words about the election. “The shocking part is not that he won,” she said. “It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.”

Longoria’s dissatisfaction with the election outcome is palpable. Having spent the summer campaigning for Kamala Harris and organizing Latino voters, she now finds herself grappling with an uncertain future for the country she once called home. “I would like to think our fight continues,” she said. But as she looks ahead, Longoria expressed deep concern: “The country is a scary place. If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”

All I can say is “Good riddance.” But she’s probably just going to take vacation for a while and spend most of the next four years here in the good ol’ U.S of A. Just watch and see.
