Fox News’ favorite progressive mouthpiece, Jessica Tarlov, just tripped over her own virtue-signaling. Again. This time, she leapt to defend an illegal alien in D.C., declaring him a victim of President Trump’s law-and-order crackdown, only to find out the man she was so proudly championing was, in fact, a child predator.
Well done, Jessica. Really top-tier journalism there.
Here’s what happened. A viral video emerged showing D.C. police tackling a man on the National Mall. In the video, the man is heard crying out in Spanish, “Please! I’m not a criminal. I work here! I want to be with my family!” Cue the emotional manipulation. The Left saw it and instantly sprang into action. Tarlov, always ready to jump into a hot take without doing basic research, fired off a tweet that read: “This doesn’t make D.C. safer. It’ll just make people not come to D.C. The cruelty is always the point.”
Yeah, no. Turns out the man was a criminal. And not just a jaywalker or someone who overstayed a visa. According to DHS, the illegal alien from Mexico had been arrested in January 2024 for aggravated s**ual assault of a child under the age of 13. He had already been ordered removed from the U.S., had reentered illegally three times, and had voluntarily returned twice before. In other words, a repeat border hopper with a record that should have landed him behind bars permanently.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller wasted no time delivering the knockout punch. He posted, “Why are you defending a criminal illegal alien invader charged with s**ually assaulting a child?” Ouch. That’s when Tarlov’s tune suddenly changed.
After getting publicly humiliated, she replied, “I didn’t know he was – the DHS memo on him came out hours after the video. Wouldn’t ever defend such a person!” She then promised to delete her original tweet. Then, she tried again to save face, claiming, “When you’re trying to be quiet you don’t reply to Stephen Miller.”
Sorry, but no one’s buying the clean-up job. The problem here isn’t just a bad tweet. It’s the knee-jerk, emotion-driven nonsense that ignores facts in favor of progressive narratives. Tarlov’s first instinct was to slam law enforcement and assume the criminal was the victim. That says everything.
Defending child predators, even accidentally, is a horrible look. And this is exactly why Americans are fed up with soft-on-crime politicians and pundits.
