Kash Patel and Dan Bongino Face Massive Backlash After Dismissing Epstein Conspiracies and Trump Threats

The new leadership at the FBI — Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino — shocked and infuriated much of their conservative base this week after doubling down on the long-disputed official claim that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide and brushing aside major concerns about recent assassination attempts against President Trump.

Appearing on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo, both Patel and Bongino, widely viewed as fierce Trump allies and anti-Deep State warriors, echoed the same narrative Americans have heard for years: that Epstein hanged himself in his Manhattan jail cell — despite glaring red flags, “lost” surveillance footage, and forensic evidence suggesting otherwise.

When Bartiromo directly challenged the suicide claim, Patel didn’t flinch:
“As someone who’s worked as a public defender and prosecutor… you know a suicide when you see one. And that’s what that was.”

Bongino, who once famously blew the whistle on corruption inside the Secret Service, joined in:
“He killed himself… I’ve seen the whole file.”

That response didn’t sit well with conservative leaders like Alex Jones, who blasted the pair for defending what he called “bulls***.” Jones and others pointed out the same facts that have fueled public skepticism for years — from the mysteriously broken cameras and sleeping guards, to the fact that Epstein’s cellmate was removed just hours before his death. Not to mention the fact that the jail was under the supervision of Maurene Comey — daughter of disgraced former FBI Director James Comey — and that critical video footage “disappeared” under her watch.

Even Dr. Michael Baden, the world-renowned forensic pathologist hired by Epstein’s family, found Epstein’s neck injuries consistent with homicidal strangulation, not suicide.

If that weren’t enough, Bongino also downplayed the multiple assassination attempts against President Trump in recent months — including the July 13 attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, where gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire, striking Trump and killing a rallygoer.

Despite overwhelming evidence of systemic security failures — including drone surveillance of the rally site, security breaches, and even a rangefinder being brought through — Bongino suggested there wasn’t much more to investigate. “In some of these cases, the ‘there’ you’re looking for is not there,” he said.

But let’s get real: a gunman fires eight shots at the 47th President of the United States after parking a car full of explosives near a major rally — and we’re supposed to believe there’s no deeper story?

Patel and Bongino were supposed to clean house. But if this is the official line on Epstein and Trump’s would-be assassins, Americans are right to ask: Who’s really running the show?
