Mexico’s Government Turns to U.S. Special Forces to Clean Up Cartel Chaos!

Well, this is interesting. Mexico’s Senate has just rolled out the welcome mat for U.S. Army Special Forces, specifically the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), to enter the country and conduct training with Mexico’s Navy Marine Infantry. This move, approved by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, is set to begin on February 17 and will last until March 30.

Now, let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture here. This is the same Mexico that just a few years ago was whining about “U.S. intervention” and playing the sovereignty card every time we suggested cracking down on the cartels. But now? Now they’re welcoming Green Berets with open arms to help train their forces. Why? Because even Mexico is starting to realize what conservatives have been saying for years—the situation with cartels is out of control, and they simply do not have the resources or expertise to handle it on their own.

Eleven fully armed Green Berets will be landing in Campeche, a relatively quiet state compared to the war zones of cartel-controlled territories, but don’t be fooled—this is about more than just routine training. The 7th Special Forces Group has a long history of working in Latin America, and they’re not exactly known for showing up just to do some push-ups and rifle drills. These are the guys who helped take down Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega and have been deployed in counter-insurgency missions across the world. When you bring them in, it’s because you mean business.

The real question is: What’s the endgame here? Is this just a friendly military cooperation exercise, or is Mexico finally signaling that it’s ready to let the U.S. play a bigger role in cleaning up the cartel mess? Because let’s be real—Mexico’s government has been either unwilling or unable to truly confront the cartels that have turned parts of the country into lawless war zones. And with Biden in the White House refusing to take border security seriously, we all know that a stronger, more capable Mexican military is in our best interest, too.

But let’s not forget: a handful of Green Berets training Mexico’s Marines is a far cry from actually dismantling the cartel empires that fuel illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and violence on both sides of the border. This is a step in the right direction, but until Mexico is willing to let the U.S. take more decisive action against the cartels, the real problems aren’t going anywhere.
