Top Fox News Anchors Looking to Jump Ship and Follow Tucker

According to Variety, insider sources have disclosed that on April 26, Tucker Carlson had a conversation with one of Fox Corp.’s board members who revealed that his temporary suspension was a necessary condition for Fox News’ settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. Although this requirement was not specified in the settlement agreement, it was reportedly communicated verbally. Compliance with this condition was essential for Fox to successfully close the settlement.

Insiders familiar with the matter suggested that Dominion’s decision to cut ties with the conservative news network’s most-watched cable news personality was a strategic move to deal maximum damage to the network. The purpose behind this move was to cause a significant drop in viewership for the network.

“That condition was intended to hurt Fox, and Tucker is just collateral damage,” stated a source with knowledge of the situation. “Dominion wanted to punish Fox, and it’s working.” Fox’s ratings have taken a significant hit since Tucker was fired as well.

Fox denied the allegations, calling them “categorically false,” and Dominion denied making any demands regarding Carlson’s employment. Carlson’s decision to switch to Twitter has drawn the attention of other Fox anchors, some of whom have reportedly contacted him to express interest in joining his venture after their contracts expire.

Variety stated,

Carlson’s Twitter move could have additional reverberations with talent at the network. A handful of Fox anchors have reached out to Carlson directly or had their surrogates contact him to say they are eager to join whatever venture he starts on Twitter when their contracts are up, according to sources.

After being fired on April 24, Carlson hired Bryan Freedman, a well-known Hollywood lawyer, to help with his contract dispute. Freedman is an experienced entertainment litigator and has represented many high-profile clients in the entertainment industry. If Fox tries to stop Carlson’s Twitter show, where he has a large following of 7.5 million, sources say he may take legal action or let the network suffer in its attempt to challenge free speech principles.

In May, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, shared additional information about Tucker Carlson’s show on Twitter. Musk emphasized how Twitter offers benefits like engagement and the ability to analyze and challenge content.

On May 9, Carlson posted on Twitter that his show would be available on the platform. He positioned it as a trustworthy source for news, unlike Fox. This generated interest, and with Musk’s support, the show is expected to gain a large audience. Carlson also criticized media networks for hiding facts and stressed free speech’s importance in democracy.
