Trump Halts ALL Immigration from 19 Countries, Here is the List

President Trump said he would do it and now it is official. The United States has shut down all immigration from nineteen high risk, dysfunctional countries that have been pouring instability into the West for decades. After the attack on the National Guard in D.C. last week, nobody should be surprised that the administration finally hit the brakes. What is surprising is that it took this long.

DHS rolled out the directive in a memo that stunned the open borders crowd. Every immigration benefit tied to these nineteen nations is now frozen. Not slowed. Not delayed. Frozen. The countries on the list are Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. Look at that list and tell me this policy is unreasonable. Anyone pretending these countries pose zero national security risk is living on another planet.

The memo tells USCIS to hold all asylum applications, halt every pending request from these nations, and reopen every approved case for anyone who came here after January 20, 2021. That means Biden era arrivals are getting a second look and thank God for that. For years we’ve had a government treating visas and citizenship like party favors while ignoring the reality that hostile groups use our generosity to slip people into the country.

The freeze even hit migrants who already passed their citizenship tests. Naturalization ceremonies for nationals from Venezuela, Iran, and Afghanistan were canceled without warning. Some applicants showed up online to vent, posting the sudden cancellation letters they received. Lawyers are complaining but DHS isn’t backing down. Officials told CBS that America will take no chances when the future of the country is at stake.

The reason for all this is pretty simple. We now know how many dangerous individuals slipped through during the Biden years. We watched Minneapolis erupt under the weight of Somali related fraud networks. We saw Afghan entrants from Biden’s botched withdrawal scatter across the country with little vetting. And now we witnessed a horrific attack on our servicemembers by someone who should never have been here.

DHS also confirmed this policy may grow. Up to thirty countries could eventually fall under these restrictions. Frankly, expanding the list wouldn’t be shocking. Trump is making it clear that American safety comes before the feelings of activists and foreign governments.

For the first time in a long time, the United States is acting like a sovereign nation again.
