Trump Humiliates Newsom With Crushing Legal Win That No One Saw Coming

Well, would you look at that, President Trump just chalked up another W against the California liberal regime, and this one came straight out of the belly of the beast: the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The same court that’s historically been the go-to for the left when they want to tie the federal government in legal knots. Not this time.

In a legal battle that boiled down to who gets to wear the big-boy pants during a national crisis, the President or a state governor, the court sided with Trump. The case, Newsom v. Trump, was centered around President Trump’s decision to federalize 4,000 California National Guard troops during the chaos in Los Angeles earlier this year, after violent protests broke out in response to ICE raids. People were throwing objects at officers, smashing up federal property, and turning parts of downtown LA into a war zone. In other words, just another Tuesday in progressive paradise.

So what did Trump do? He invoked 10 U.S.C. § 12406, a federal statute that gives the president the authority to call up National Guard units when domestic unrest threatens federal operations. Seems pretty straightforward. But Governor Gavin “Hair Gel” Newsom wasn’t having it. He threw a fit, claiming Trump ignored the requirement to route the order through him, the almighty governor. But federal judges, apparently having rediscovered their copy of the Constitution, didn’t buy Newsom’s argument.

The Ninth Circuit, in a one-line October 22 order, shut down Newsom’s request to rehear the case en banc. Translation: not enough liberal judges were willing to stick their necks out and overturn the panel’s earlier ruling in Trump’s favor. Ouch. That’s got to sting for a guy who thinks he’s the next Democratic savior.

This ruling isn’t just a feather in Trump’s cap. It’s a big, red MAGA hat being waved in the face of every leftist governor who thinks they can obstruct federal authority whenever it suits their politics. It confirms the President has the power to take charge when cities are burning and anarchists are trying to tear down federal institutions. That’s not just good law, that’s common sense.

So while Newsom plays dress-up on national TV and dreams of D.C., Trump just reminded everyone who’s still the boss when things hit the fan.
