President Trump returned to his rally roots in Pennsylvania on Monday, promising to do what he does best—shake up the status quo. Speaking in Indiana, Pennsylvania, to a crowd of around 5,000 eager supporters, Trump laid out bold plans for the economy and energy, two issues that remain his strong suit. And, as usual, he didn’t hold back.
“If you vote for me, I will cut your energy and electricity prices in half within 12 months,” Trump declared, firing up the crowd. It’s a bold promise, but it taps into growing frustration over sky-high energy costs that have spiraled since Biden took office. Trump framed his pitch as a return to common sense—an end to importing oil from Venezuela while ignoring America’s own massive energy reserves. “We have more liquid gold under our feet, and we’re buying oil from Venezuela. We don’t need it at all. It’s crazy!”
Trump didn’t stop at energy, either. He slammed Biden’s liquid natural gas export ban, which is currently on hold thanks to a lawsuit by Republican attorneys general. “I will terminate the natural gas export ban, which makes it impossible for you to sell your product to a lot of countries that want it desperately,” Trump said, positioning himself as the man to get Pennsylvanians back to work in the state’s rich energy sector.
But what really fired up the crowd? Trump’s takedown of Kamala Harris. The former president skewered her for her flip-flopping on fracking, reminding everyone that back in 2019, Harris was calling for a fracking ban. “If anybody here believes that she will let your energy industry continue—like fracking—you should immediately go to a psychiatrist and have your head examined,” Trump joked, prompting laughter and cheers from the audience.
Immigration was another hot topic. Trump has long rallied against illegal immigration, and this speech was no different. The crowd, at one point chanting “Send them back,” agreed enthusiastically as Trump criticized Biden and Harris’s policies. “Reckless migration policy can destroy everything in its way, just like we’ve seen in London, and Paris, and Minneapolis,” Trump warned, adding that he would halt all migrant flights to Pennsylvania immediately if elected.
With Pennsylvania as one of the battleground states for 2024, Trump’s rally wasn’t just about energy and immigration. It was a full-court press to win over voters in a state that could make or break the election. And by the looks of it, he’s got their attention.
