Well, here we go again. Michael Cohen, the former associate of President Trump, has decided to put on a performance worthy of an Oscar nomination. On a recent podcast, Cohen appeared to have lost his marbles, expressing fears of being sent to Guantanamo Bay by the former president. This is the same Cohen who was once known as Trump’s loyal fixer but has since become one of his most vocal critics. Talk about a plot twist!
Cohen, in his latest public appearance, went all out. He compared Trump to authoritarian figures like Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin, and expressed concerns over Trump’s potential to undermine American democracy. And then came the cherry on top: Cohen, apparently with a straight face, speculated about being sent to Guantanamo Bay under a Trump administration.
“All of a sudden, you’re going to have somebody knock down your door, and it’s going to be Trump’s brown shirts pulling you out and sending you off to Guantanamo Bay,” Cohen said. Wow, talk about a drama queen! It’s almost like he’s auditioning for a role in a dystopian movie.
“And I know that sounds hyperbolic, but I know him so well. I know what’s on his mind, and I know what he intends to do. He’s looking to scare the piss out of everyone so that nobody, and I mean nobody, likes the way Kim Jong-Un runs North Korea.”
Remember, this is the same Cohen who held significant roles such as vice president of the Trump Organization and personal counsel to Trump. He was also co-president of Trump Entertainment and a board member of the Eric Trump Foundation. But after legal issues in connection with the special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections, Cohen had a fallout with Trump and pleaded guilty to various charges including campaign finance violations, tax fraud, and bank fraud.
Fast forward to now, Cohen seems to be on a mission to tarnish Trump’s image further. “He wants to run the United States of America that way, the way that Vladimir Putin controls Russia,” Cohen claimed. “He wants to control America the way that Mohammed bin Salman controls Saudi Arabia. He wants to control America the same way. So, a vote for Donald is a vote for the end of democracy. Who in their right mind would do such a thing? Who would support somebody who’s looking to destroy the greatest experiment that exists on this planet?”
Well, that’s one way to get attention, isn’t it? But hey, in the world of politics, nothing is off-limits. And as we’ve seen time and time again, even the wildest speculations can make headlines. So, sit back, grab some popcorn, and let’s see where this Cohen drama leads us next.
