ICYMI: Riley Gaines Demolishes Lia Thomas’ Hurt Feelings

Riley Gaines, a former All-American swimmer, has spoken out against Lia Thomas, a transgender athlete who claims that “trans kids lose out on opportunities” because several states and athletic organizations have prohibited biological males from competing against females. Gaines, who was a star at the University of Kentucky, made an appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” and discussed Thomas’ views. Thomas previously competed for the University of Pennsylvania men’s team before transitioning and joining the women’s team.

Gaines, who has become increasingly vocal about protecting female athletes from unjust competition, firmly believes that men who identify as women are taking away opportunities from female athletes. Gaines’ strong stance is justifiable, as research has demonstrated that males experience physiological benefits that females do not. As a result, allowing biological males to compete against females seems to give males an unfair advantage.

Several high-profile female athletes have echoed Gaines’ sentiments, arguing that allowing biological males to compete in female sports is detrimental to women’s athletics. They believe that gender identity should not be prioritized over biological sex when it comes to sports competition. While the trans community may feel marginalized by their exclusion from female sports, upholding the integrity and fairness of women’s athletics is crucial.

“Lia Thomas [was] quoted saying, you know, ‘It breaks my heart to see trans kids lose out on opportunities,” Gaines told Morgan. “Replace that with word ‘woman.’ Does it still break Thomas’s heart to see women lose out on opportunities? Because that’s what’s happening.”

“From my experience competing against Lia Thomas at the national championships, I watched first-hand women lose out on opportunities. I watched women not become All-Americans, missing that eighth and 16th place by one place because they were displaced by a male. This, of course, goes against everything that Title IX was created to protect and now we have the Biden administration, the people in the White House, who are actively working to rewrite Title IX.”

Title IX states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
