Hunter Biden’s Lawyer Takes Legal Action Against President Trump

In a move that is sure to further inflame tensions between the two families, Hunter Biden’s lawyer has sent a cease-and-desist letter to President Trump, demanding that he stop making defamatory statements about his client on social media.

The letter, which was sent on Thursday, accuses Trump of “harassing and inciting” his followers against Hunter Biden on a “near daily basis” since Trump was himself indicted. It also cites past examples when Trump’s language has allegedly inspired violence, such as what happened at the Capitol.

“This is not a false alarm,” the letter states. “We are just one such social media message away from another incident.”

Trump’s lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The letter comes at a time when Hunter Biden is facing increasing scrutiny over his business dealings in Ukraine and China. Trump has repeatedly alleged that Hunter Biden used his father’s position as vice president to enrich himself. In the letter, Hunter Biden’s lawyer also denies that his client was responsible for what was found at the White House earlier this month. The Secret Service has since closed the case without any suspects at all. How convenient.

The cease-and-desist letter is the latest salvo in a long-running feud between the Biden and Trump families. It remains to be seen whether Trump will comply with the demand, but the letter is a clear sign that Hunter Biden is not going to let Trump’s attacks go unanswered.

Of course, the other side of the story is that Trump is simply exercising his First Amendment rights. He is free to say whatever he wants about Hunter Biden, even if it is false.

Ultimately, it will be up to the courts to decide whether Trump’s statements about Hunter Biden are defamatory. But the cease-and-desist letter is a clear sign that this is a battle that is not going to end anytime soon.
