The U.N. General Assembly has hit a new low, passing a Palestinian-drafted resolution that would make Judea, Samaria, and even Jerusalem’s Old City completely without Jews. Yes, that’s right—the UN, in 2024, just voted to cleanse these territories of Jews within a year, essentially declaring that no Jewish person should live in these historically Jewish lands. This isn’t just another anti-Israel resolution, this is a full-blown attempt to rewrite history and erase Jewish ties to their ancestral homeland.
The resolution, which passed by a staggering 124-14 margin with 43 abstentions, calls for the complete withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces and Jewish communities from these areas, including eastern Jerusalem and the Old City. And the kicker? There’s zero mention of Israeli security concerns, Hamas terror attacks, or even the basic fact that Jerusalem has been the heart of Jewish civilization for over 3,000 years. The U.N. has, once again, chosen to side with those who seek to delegitimize Israel while completely ignoring the ongoing terror attacks that Israelis face daily.
The text of the resolution is meant to enforce a July advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice, which absurdly declared Israel’s presence beyond the 1949 armistice line to be illegal. That’s right, they’re using an arbitrary line drawn in 1949 to justify evicting Jews from lands they’ve lived in for millennia. Does the UN even remember that history exists?
It gets worse. The resolution also bans arms sales to the IDF that could be used in these territories, while pushing for boycotts of Jewish-made products. So, not only are they trying to throw Jews out of their own land, but they’re also attempting to cripple Israel’s ability to defend itself. This isn’t diplomacy, this is warfare by other means.
Countries like the United States, Paraguay, Hungary, and a few brave others voted against this farce. But major powers like Germany, the U.K., and Canada abstained, effectively washing their hands of the whole mess instead of standing up for what’s right. Israel’s ambassador to the U.N., Danny Danon, called it “a shameful decision,” and he’s absolutely right.
This resolution is not just anti-Israel—it’s anti-Jewish. It’s a disgrace to international law and a dangerous escalation in the U.N.’s decades-long campaign against the Jewish state. Instead of promoting peace, this vote is pouring gasoline on the fire of worldwide antisemitism, and history will not look kindly on those who supported it.
