WATCH: Radical Democrat Gets Harsh Reality Check After Jumping in Front of ICE Truck

Well, chalk up another political stunt that went exactly the way it was supposed to: with someone pretending to be a martyr for the cameras and ending up flat on the pavement. This week’s episode of “What Happens When You Obstruct Federal Law Enforcement?” stars none other than Kat Abughazaleh, a left-wing activist turned congressional candidate who clearly thought she could LARP her way into the Squad by standing in front of an ICE vehicle. Spoiler alert: ICE wasn’t impressed.

The whole circus unfolded outside an ICE processing center in Broadview, Illinois. Abughazaleh, who apparently still thinks she’s playing journalist despite running in a crowded Democratic primary, decided it would be a brilliant idea to physically block federal officers from doing their job. She claimed it was about “First Amendment rights,” but it looked a whole lot more like obstruction of justice. You know, the kind of thing that tends to get people arrested.

And yes, there’s video. Of course there’s video. These folks never resist the urge to livestream their own lawbreaking like it’s some kind of TikTok audition for MSNBC. You can see her standing in front of the ICE vehicle while agents try to get the job done. Then comes the tear gas, and finally, Abughazaleh is taken to the ground. Cue the melodrama.

Naturally, she ran to X (formerly Twitter) to claim ICE was violating her rights. Sorry Kat, but interfering with a federal officer is a felony under 18 U.S.C. § 111. That’s not just a citation and a slap on the wrist. That can land you in federal prison for up to eight years. It’s amazing how these so-called champions of democracy don’t seem to understand basic law and order.

Commenters were quick to call it what it was. One tagged the Attorney General demanding charges. Another said, “Make a legal example out of this criminal.” And honestly, they’re not wrong. If there are no consequences, these activists will keep pulling the same nonsense.

Abughazaleh is running in a 10-way Democratic primary for a deep-blue district in Illinois. Her campaign has raised over \$666,000 — make of that number what you will — and she’s trying to stand out any way she can. Blocking ICE and getting tossed to the pavement might not be smart politics, but it sure makes a headline.

This isn’t the first time a Squad wannabe pulled a stunt like this. Earlier this year, LaMonica McIver and even the Newark mayor Ras Baraka got themselves arrested outside ICE facilities. You’d think Democrats would learn, but hey, when all you’ve got is identity politics and rebellion theater, this is the playbook.
