House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) unleashed a vulgar, personal attack on White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday after she delivered a hard-hitting assessment of the modern Democrat coalition during a Fox News interview.
Leavitt’s remarks were prompted by the rise of communist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, who has built his campaign on empty socialist promises while openly aligning with pro-Hamas radicals. Mamdani is currently leading in the polls and has promised leniency and taxpayer handouts for violent offenders and illegal migrants. These are policies that would further devastate the city.
Leavitt stated plainly that Mamdani is not an outlier but a reflection of who the Democrat Party now represents.
“The Democrat Party’s main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals,” Leavitt told Fox News. “That is who the Democrat Party is catering to, not the Trump Administration and not the Republican Party, who is standing up for law-abiding Americans.”
The statement ignited predictable outrage among Democrats and their media allies. Jeffries responded with the most venom. In a furious tirade, he smeared Leavitt personally instead of refuting a single substantive claim.
“You’ve got Karoline Leavitt, who’s sick,” Jeffries ranted. “She’s out of control, and I’m not sure whether she’s just demented, ignorant, a stone-cold liar, or all of the above.”
Jeffries then played dumb about Leavitt’s point, pretending that the Democratic Party’s embrace of radicals is not already documented in public policy and voting patterns.
The same corporate press outlets that excused years of hate-filled attacks against Trump officials immediately took Jeffries’ side. This is a stark contrast to how they would have reacted had a Republican described Karine Jean-Pierre in similar terms. There would be nonstop coverage, editorials, and demands for resignation.
Leavitt’s comments struck a nerve because they were accurate. The Democrat Party has remade itself around the interests of extremists, criminals, and foreign nationals. Hakeem Jeffries proved it by responding with rage instead of facts.
