DHS Confirms NYC Harboring HUGE Number of Known Criminal Illegal Aliens

Democrats love to claim they’re the party of “compassion” and “justice,” but in New York City that compassion somehow seems to stop right before it reaches actual American citizens. According to Assistant DHS Secretary Trisha McLaughlin, the city is currently harboring more than 7,100 criminal illegal aliens, including hundreds of violent offenders, murderers, and sexual predators. That’s not a typo. Seven thousand one hundred sixty-nine known criminals, sitting protected inside the sanctuary city Democrats built.

McLaughlin didn’t sugarcoat it. She called out NYC for refusing to honor ICE detainers, refusing to hand over these offenders, and actively obstructing deportation efforts. Her message was blunt, and frankly overdue, telling city officials to “hand over those individuals” so federal agents can get these predators out of the country and away from American communities. You’d think the city would be relieved to transfer custody of violent criminals. Instead, New York is doubling down on policies that shield them.

Once these criminals slip out of overstuffed jails, they don’t magically become law-abiding residents. They head right back into neighborhoods where American families are already dealing with rising crime. And when ICE finally steps in to clean up the mess that city leaders refuse to handle, they’re met by mobs of activists who think screaming at law enforcement somehow counts as moral superiority.

That was the scene in Lower Manhattan on Saturday. Hundreds of anti-ICE agitators blocked streets, hurled trash cans, rammed barricades into officers, and shoved massive potted plants in front of ICE vehicles. Police warned them to disperse, but of course the protesters ignored every instruction. Eventually multiple rioters were arrested, though the city will likely drop the charges the moment nobody is looking.

This is the predictable outcome of sanctuary city politics. When a local government decides it will protect criminal non-citizens over taxpaying residents, chaos is inevitable. ICE can’t secure dangerous offenders because the city won’t cooperate. Police can’t control the streets because activists think law enforcement is the enemy. And law-abiding citizens get the privilege of footing the bill while watching their safety erode.

At some point, enough is enough. If New York refuses to hand over violent illegal immigrants and insists on obstructing federal law, then yes, it may be time to send in the National Guard. The American people deserve protection. What they’re getting from Democrat leadership is a dangerous joke, and the punchline always seems to land on U.S. citizens.
