Marjorie Taylor Greene Demands Invocation of 25th Amendment on Trump

Marjorie Taylor Greene has officially taken her political evolution into strange territory, and not in a way that inspires confidence. The former Georgia congresswoman, once one of the loudest voices backing President Trump, is now calling for Congress to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office. That is not a minor disagreement, that is a full-blown political detonation.

Her comments came during an interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN, where she claimed Trump’s remarks about Iran signaled a lack of fitness for office. Greene said, “I was absolutely shocked and horrified that the president, the man that I supported and helped get elected, would call for an entire civilization of people to be murdered.” That is a serious accusation, and one that deserves a serious look, not a knee-jerk reaction.

Let’s get something straight. Political rhetoric, especially during international conflict, is often aggressive, blunt, and intentionally forceful. That does not automatically translate into literal intent, nor does it justify jumping straight to constitutional removal mechanisms. The 25th Amendment was designed for clear incapacity, not political disagreements or dramatic interpretations of statements made during a geopolitical crisis.

Greene doubled down, saying Trump’s comments gave her “grave concern for his mental capacity” and that it “needs to be examined.” That is a bold claim coming from someone who built her brand on loyalty to the America First movement. Now she is positioning herself as a critic from within, and not a mild one either.

This shift did not come out of nowhere. After resigning her House seat earlier this year following a fallout with the White House, Greene has been increasingly vocal in her criticism. She even took to social media to mock Trump’s handling of the Iran situation, writing, “Great Mr President. Good job,” before launching into a rant about generational dissatisfaction.

There is a difference between holding leaders accountable and throwing political grenades for attention. Calling for the 25th Amendment is not oversight, it is escalation. It raises eyebrows not just because of the claim itself, but because of who is making it. Greene was not a casual supporter. She was one of Trump’s most reliable allies.

Now, she is echoing talking points that sound a lot like the same establishment voices she used to rail against. Whether this is personal fallout, political calculation, or something else entirely, it leaves voters wondering which version of Marjorie Taylor Greene is the real one.
