Adam Robinson and family identified as victims of a Florida Learjet crash

Texas Tech Entrepreneur and Family Killed in Devastating Florida Learjet Crash

The latest update in the Florida Learjet tragedy is grim, but the basic facts are now more complete. According to details reported by TMZ and cited in the source report, 44-year-old Austin tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson was aboard the Learjet 60 that crashed near Palm Beach on Sunday.

Robinson’s wife, Helen, their two young daughters, Bella and Emma, their nanny, and two close friends were also on the aircraft. The two pilots died as well, bringing the reported death toll to nine. The Robinson family was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas for a vacation when the plane crashed.

The names of the family’s two friends and the nanny have not been publicly identified. Social media, naturally, has already begun circulating every available detail at full speed, because apparently even tragedy now comes with a frantic online press cycle. Still, behind the headlines is a family whose vacation ended in an awful loss.

Robinson was the founder and CEO of Austin-based software companies Retention.com and RB2B. The report also states that he previously worked at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital, according to information on his LinkedIn profile. Helen Robinson was a ceramics artist who frequently shared videos of her work on Instagram, along with photos of the couple’s two children.

Posts from Breaking911 and News Channel3 NOW identified Robinson, Helen, their children and members of the flight crew as among those killed in the crash. The reports also identified the captain as 55-year-old Jeff Gregory of Pennsylvania.

The co-pilot was identified as 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. The source report had previously described her as a young aviation professional. Her name, along with Captain Gregory’s, adds another painful detail to an already devastating account. Families were not the only people lost in the crash, the flight crew was lost too.

A separate detail about Robinson is now drawing heavy attention online. Several months before the crash, he posted: “You don’t need to crash a plane to learn to fly … and you don’t need VC to build a business.”

Robinson published that message on April 17, 2026. It is now being widely circulated because of the way the first part of the sentence appears to echo the circumstances of his death. The internet has never been especially famous for patience or restraint, and social media users quickly seized on the wording. There is no need to manufacture extra drama around this story, the reported facts are heartbreaking enough.

The crash claimed the lives of a Texas family, their nanny, two friends and both pilots during a trip that was supposed to be a vacation. The public identification of the victims gives a more human picture to a story that might otherwise remain just another aircraft headline. Behind the plane and the passenger list were parents, children, friends, a caregiver and crew members whose lives ended far too soon.
