Maryland Special Ed Teacher Says Stop Giving Birth to Boys

A special education teacher in Maryland reportedly called boys “menaces to society” and advocated aborting male fetuses in a series of social media posts. Her employer, Montgomery County Public Schools, has not publicly announced any discipline or disapproval, according to the reporting cited in the source article.

Dana Zentgraf teaches special education at Clopper Mill Elementary School in Montgomery County. According to a Washington Free Beacon investigation, she wrote in an October 27 Facebook post under the name “Da Graf,” “It’s your son too. It’s all of them,” before adding, “They are all menace[s] to society and we need to stop giving birth to them.”

That was not the only disturbing statement. On October 24, Zentgraf wrote, “If I was in my reproduction era, I would have one of those early blood tests to see if the fetus is a boy or a girl and I would abort it if it was a boy. I don’t want to give birth to my own oppressor and I feel like the only way out of this patriarchal hell is for there to be less men on this earth. I think we should start aborting male fetuses (or not having kids at all right now) and put an end to female oppression once and for all.”

The posts appeared before the election, but the Montgomery County school system reportedly made no statement about them. That silence is especially difficult to explain because Zentgraf works with students who have learning, mental, emotional, or physical disabilities. Parents might reasonably expect school officials to take a closer look when a teacher publicly describes an entire sex as a threat to society. Apparently, that expectation is considered too demanding for modern bureaucracy.

The district has already embraced plenty of far-left activism. In 2020, Montgomery County Public Schools spent more than $450,000 on an “anti-racist audit” intended to create “equitable outcomes for every student’s academic and social-emotional well-being.” In 2023, the district limited parent access at a board meeting concerning a policy that barred parents from opting their children out of lessons on gender identity and sexuality.

Zentgraf previously used her full name on Facebook, including in comments on the official Montgomery County Public Schools page. She later used the name “Da Graf,” and her profile photo showed a Palestinian flag over a child. The account has since been deleted, and the source report said it appeared to have been removed after the Free Beacon reached out for comment.

Her other posts also described a deep hostility toward men. On October 18, she wrote, “Upon meeting another woman, I will almost immediately find a way to say something mean about a man or men in general to figure out whether or not she’s a safe person to be myself around. … The last thing I need in my life is a male centered woman.”

She also used the term “AMERIKKKA” and called for the violent overthrow of the government. On October 30, Zentgraf wrote, “You think voting is the only answer; I think overthrowing the government is the only answer,” followed by, “We are too [sic] very different people.”

Zentgraf also compared circumcision in the United States to female genital mutilation. “If you have your son circumcised, you’re no different from a mother in Somalia who allows her daughter to undergo [female genital mutilation] because she believes it will make her more ‘marriageable,’” she wrote. “You don’t get to condemn genital mutilation in one breath and defend it in the next just because the child being cut is your son instead of someone else’s daughter in a brown country.”

Teachers are entitled to personal opinions, but public-school employees also hold positions of trust. When a teacher who works with children publicly advocates aborting boys and calls them menaces, parents deserve more than institutional silence. They deserve to know whether the school district considers those statements compatible with the responsibility of educating and protecting every student.
